Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system wherein the body does not recognise the protective covering on nerve fibres and so attacks it causing a number of side effects including consistent pins and needles, severe fatigue, numbness, visual issues and cognitive difficulties. It is estimated that over 150,000 people in the UK are living with the condition which has no cure, however through treatment can be managed and symptoms lessened. It most commonly forms in the body between the ages of 30 and 40.
Blackadders have chosen MS Research and Relief Fund after nomination by one of our players whom has a close family member with the condition. The charity do fantastic work to support people with the disease in the North East and we hope that through the year we can raise additional funding to help them continue this service.
We look forward to raising loads of money in 2025 for them.
