Blackadders 2023 wrapped

2023 was a such a great year for us, where we have seen the team go from strength to strength. Here are a few of our highlights:

  • Players representing North East Raiders in 2 categories.

  • Extra silverware added to the Blackadders trophy cabinet

  •  Introducing not one, but two new touch leagues to the North East

  • Raising funds to support the fantastic work of the Bay Foodbank who were our charity of the year. Thanks to Matty, Rolf and Athena for arranging our charity competition which formed a large part of our donation this year and Cat for arranging the Christmas food collection.

  • Having player representation in the England Men’s 35s team.

  • Further upskilling with two Level 1 refs courses and one Level 2 course complete – just awaiting assessment.

Congratulations to our end of season award winners

Player’s Player – Matthew Redshaw. For his hard work and dedication both on and off field, he played some of his best touch rugby this year. We can’t wait to have you join us back on the field!

Captain’s Player – Carl Cockburn. His commitment to constantly improving his game and positive attitude. He broke into the England men’s 35s training squad which is a credit to the hard work he puts in. He shares his knowledge not only with his team mates but social touch members to help their understanding, which helps grow the game further.

Most Improved  – Dan Donald – has only been playing touch for a short time and his vision and ability to tear open opponents defences has been outstanding this year. Excited to see how you go in 2024.

Exciting news!! We have a fresh new kit coming.. standby for the club shop opening!!Ω
